GBF's Best Place to Break Up in Fresno
Presented by Abby Blackstone, Relationship Expert
Relationships are really great. Like, really, really...great. But sometimes they're just not as great as they should be. You're with someone who's great but you know that they would be so much better off with someone else. If you're young, it happens a lot. And, in my experience, there are certain places that are better suited to breaking the news than others.
And maybe you can even give this person a positive experience. After all, you're "breaking up" not "breaking down".
Here are your nominees for Best Place to Break Up in Fresno...

When breaking up with someone you usually want to be somewhere public so they can't make a whole big deal out of it. However, if you're like me, you also want a bit of privacy so people can't hear you destroy someone's life. You just want people nearby if you need to call for help.
That's what makes Mia Cuppa so great. With three different seating areas, you're bound to find a quiet spot where you can rip your lover's heart out.
Fresno State Amphitheater
Here's a weird picture I stole from our friends at The Collegian
If you're about to break up with someone who you just know is going to get a little violent (and if this is so it's probably for the best that you're breaking up), then the Fresno State Amphitheater just might be your favorite place.
It goes like this: you tell them you want to show them something you've been working on. You get on stage, tell them to back up, and then you do it.
The amphitheater will protect you in two ways.
- You can have them back up a really long ways and they can still hear you. This will give you time to make a getaway.
- The stage is really high so even if they make it that far they probably won't be able to get you.
The Starbucks at River Park
Which one? The one by Panera? The one by World Market? The one in Target? The one in Barnes & Noble?
That's the ticket right there. Don't specify which one. That way when they call you to clarify, you tell them that they stood you up and that THEY DUMPED YOU! It's perfect.
The Fresno Aquarium
What better way to forget about the Valley's ongoing and crippling drought than to plan a trip to the Fresno Aquarium. Have your significant other (soon to be insignificant other) meet you there. At this point you have two plays:
- Do a similar move to the one at the Starbucks at River Park.
- When they text you, "Where u at?" you just reply, "I need you much like Fresno needs an Aquarium. Which is to say not at all."
Now it's time to vote. Maybe you have a favorite spot? I've included a write-in option for that. Voting will conclude Monday June 27th at 8:00 AM and the winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
