FRESNO, CA- California's High-Speed Rail project is officially underway and has already started to cause big changes for local businesses. One such business, Coffee Break Services, was recently forced to change locations in order for the new Tuolomne Street Bridge to go in.

Most people in Fresno are unfamiliar with this business as they mostly sling coffee to offices, however sitting atop their old building was an iconic symbol of Downtown Fresno: the Dale Bros. Coffee Can (pictured above).

It was the intention of the HSR Authority to leave the coffee can intact, however as demolition began, the strain proved to be too much on the rusted supports and the coffee can came crashing to the ground---revealing a gruesome secret.

"It turns out that the coffee can was actually a coffee can," Jerry Dale, owner of Coffee Break told us. "I guess my Grandpa set it up there and forgot about it."

Not just any coffee, mind you. 80 year old coffee. Despite being canned, the coffee had not stood the test of time and had become horribly rancid and putrefied.

"The coffee beans came at us in a great wave," said one worker who had been on the ground when the accident happened. "The beans came over me. I thought I was being swallowed by the shadow of a demon. I still haven't been able to wash the smell off of me. I think it stained my soul."

The Fresno Fire Department quickly arrived at the scene to assist with the rescue of the workers who had become trapped by the beans, however most were laughing while they worked. When asked about it, they said, "We thought a kid was trapped in there."

The spill is expected to only cause a one day delay on the demolition.
