Ampersand Announces "Crampersand" Ice Cream Flavor

FRESNO, CA- Hey gals, have you ever had an especially unpleasant visit from "the crimson tide" and thought to yourself, "all I want right now is a pint of ice cream and a handful of midol"? Well, a local Ice Cream company known for wacky and zany flavors has devised a way for you to get both at once.
"We call it 'Crampersand'," said Jeff Bennett, who owns Ampersand Ice Cream with his wife, Amelia. "Part of our Kickstarter was to allow people who backed us to submit flavor suggestions. We thought this one might be illegal, but I guess not."
The Bennetts put me in touch with the person who submitted the flavor. He agreed to speak to me on the condition of anonymity. He said, "I used to sneak Midol into my wife's ice cream when she was being hella unruly. At first, I would just take a whole pill and kind of push it into the middle of some Rocky Road and hope she wouldn't notice. Then I began to experiment with crushing it and finding flavors that paired well. I found out that Midol ice cream is actually pretty good. I'll even have a couple scoops just cause I enjoy it so much."
For those worried about overdosing, one scoop contains about 200 milligrams of Midol, so two scoops every four hours should do it. I asked a doctor about the safety of taking Midol with ice cream and he said, "It should be fine. It says you should take Midol with food or milk, and here you have both."
"We probably wouldn't have done this," said Amelia Bennet, "but we realized that it really does fit into our mission to create a female friendly environment where you can 'cry over broken hearts with your girlfriends (or pints to-go of course in case the ugly cry is about to happen. We've all been there).'"
"Crampersand" is expected to be released next week.
