Review: Pieology

I know it's not normal for the folks here at The Good, The Bad, and the Fresno to write reviews of chain restaurants, however for Pieology I've decided to make an exception. (And this could just as easily be a review of that Blaze Pizza place too, but I'm sticking with Pieology cause it seems like they're the ones leading the charge.)

A lot of people rave about this place. It's the 11th highest rated Fresno restaurant on Yelp. I've had it. It's certainly a pizza. Not crazy special. Not bad.

The problem I have with these guys is that they tout their pizza as being customizable. The first adjective they use on their website is "personalized".

Here's the thing. Every pizza place in the whole fucking world sells customizable pizza--even Little Caesars! Like holy shit. You want to be unique? Tell people they can't customize their pizza. That would be something new.

As for the whole "fast fire" thing: yeah, sure, it only takes them 3 minutes to cook your pizza. But considering how busy this place is, you're probably gonna end up waiting longer for your pizza than you would if they just cooked it in a regular fucking oven.

In true fashion of the modern age, Pieology has found success by offering a gimmicky product. And for that reason alone, I'm not gonna eat here anymore. I don't even know how to give this place a rating, so I'm just gonna say...

"Suckers Only"
